Description: Ron Alphonse Kwakwak'wakw Native Polychrome Bentwood Box W/ Native Animal Design This is a wonderful Ron Alphonse Kwakwak'wakw (or Kwakiutl) native hand carved handmade bentwood box with lid. This box has a wonderful polychrome native animal design. The bottom is signed and titled "Form line Northern Style". The measurement is approximately 7 3/4" tall (8 3/8" tall with lid) by 10 3/8" wide by 10 1/2" thick by 6 7/8" deep. *Bought from Artist* Information on artist, Ron Alphonse was born on Vancouver Island. In 1992 he was introduced to the Northern style art. His step father Gary Rice gave him formal training along with completing formal classes with David Boxley and Scott Jensen which helped him practice the true Northern style carving. This item is previously owned. This bentwood box has some scuff marks/paint marks and a worn sticker on the bottom, overall in great condition.
