Description: Gigli lost control of his trademark to his ex-girlfriend and her lawyer in the early 1990s and, for a while, fought to keep making his clothes by changing the logo and labels. But the pair of usurpers weren’t paying the bills. After a couple of seasons, no manufacturer would work with either Gigli the label or Gigli the man. This is from one of the man’s last attempts to reclaim his name in the 1990s. He surfaces from time to time but it’s hard to tell if it’s really Gigli or the usurpers. Gigli’s ideas were evolving as he played with fabrics and shapes while the usurpers persisted in the same old memes, toned down. Anyway, it’s a great, odd dress. Very Japanese with its random boufs and bulges. Below the bodice, it is double-layered and the bottom section forms a bubble with the underlay more fitted to the body.I always thought of it as the twist-and-pout dress. I bought it from a factory store in Northern Italy, along with the blue egg dress I have for sale and a bunch of pieces you'll never get to see. In a t-shirt weight cotton, so it will show the outlines of bulges, the only reason it’s for sale. I bought it new and wore it three or four times. 36” around underarms, 38” around waist, 40” around hips and 38” long from top of shoulder to bubble hem.
