Description: HOUSTON Robert 1891-1940 Scottish landscape artist born in Kilbirnie, Scotland the son of a gas manager. Houston studied at the Glasgow School of Art and exhibited regularly at the Royal Scottish Society of Painters in Watercolour who elected him a member in 1936. In 1936, he was elected to membership of the Royal Scottish Society of Painters in Watercolour, and also showed at Connell & Sons, Royal Glasgow Institute of the Fine Arts, Royal Academy of Arts, Royal Scottish Academy and Walker Art Gallery, Liverpool.
