This awesome old school ghettoblaster boombox was tested and found to be in working order as you can see by the video. The radio stations come in nice and strong and both antennas are intact. The battery compartment is clean and free of any type of battery corrosion. The cassette deck also works but the belts will most likely need to be changed (this is very common for boomboxes of this age). I was able to play a cassette including rewinding, fast forwarding, etc. Overall, in my opinion, this is a beautiful boombox that would make a great addition to your collection. It looks like no other boombox, because of the dozens of horizontal lines carved into the front panel. It looks like a giant hair pick! The VU meter is big and centrally located for maximum visibility. The volume knob has a nice detented movement with 40 detents. It has a 4-band radio that includes MW/SW1/SW2/FM Stereo. Other features include: One-Program Search (OPS), ALC Automatic Record Level Control System, 2-way Wide Range Speakers, 31 Points Clock Volume Control, Center Click For Balance, Bass and Treble Controls, FM Muting and AFC Switch, Excellent LED Bar Graph Power Output/Battery Check Meters, Normal/Chrome Tape Selector Switch, Built-in Condenser Microphones, Loudness, Stereo Wide, and separate Phono and Aux inputs. It weighs 7.2kg without batteries. I believe it was manufactured by Hoyuko Musen Kogyo Co. Ltd. which was based in Osaka, Japan.
