Copyright date 1897 and this copy is 1905 date (revised and enlarged Sept. 1905). See my photos of the title pages. This book is SIGNED by the author on first blank page with Chicago and date 1921. The book is blue cloth with gold lettering and measures 7 3/4" x 5 1/2" x 7/8". There is an index to the poems and the book is 163 pages plus index pages. The book is in good order as shown with no missing or torn pages. I have photographed a few sample pages for your examination. The author Edmund Vance Cooke was born in 1866 Port Dover, Ontario Canada and died in Cleveland, Ohio 1932. He was a self-employed poet and lecturer and even a radio broadcaster and read his poems on the air (WWJ, Detroit). He was author of children's books and was father of 5. He is called the, "Poet laureate of Childhood" and one article I read about him ranked him #174 of the top 500 poets. Interesting work and variety of subjects (sometimes limited to his time).
