Rie Munoz Hand Signed 1992 Limited Edition Print “June’s Cafe”

Description: Found at the estate sale of an enthusiastic collector of artwork by acclaimed Alaskan artist Rie Munoz (1921-2015), this cheerful 1992 17.5” x 15.25” limited edition lithograph print is entitled "June’s Cafe, Ketchikan”. It’s numbered 821/950 and is signed in pencil by the artist in the lower right margin (see photos). The image area is 11.375” x 13.625”. One photo shows a 12” ruler for scale. As is unfortunately all too often the case at estate sales, I wasn't able to learn anything about the history of this marvelous lithograph print. It may have purchased in Alaska or at a Rie Munoz exhibition in Washington around 2005. It was stored out of the light for many years. The colors of the print are bright and vibrant but over the years the upper right corner has become bent and there are creases in the margins (see photos). These creases are most evident in the photo of the back of the print. Rie Munoz (1921-2015) was a beloved Alaskan artist and is famous for her vibrant, unpretentious watercolors of scenes of daily Alaskan life. Born in California, she later lived first in the Netherlands and then in Virginia before moving to Southeast Alaska in 1951. This print will be rolled for shipping.
