High tensile, industry standard M8 bolts come pre-greased as standard in the clamp, and the bespoke compression washer is designed to resist collapsing under high pressure from the compression bolt. The standard bar shim is not a simple insert - it is profiled to exactly match the front of the clamp, not only increasing clamping power, but maintaining a smooth aesthetic in any situation, and on any setup.
