Description: Little America is the story of Rear Admiral Richard Byrd's Antarctica expedition as told in the first person. It is a narrative of action and at the same time a record of brilliant scientific achievement. Photographs taken of this historic expedition are included as well as a detailed map of Antarctica. There is an inscription on an inside title page where my Aunt gives this book to my grandfather for Christmas 1930 the same year that the book is published. I did not see any other writings or markings anywhere in the book. Every page is very readable. The dust jacket had some tears in it and I put the book in a protective clear plastic cover. I don't really know how to grade books but it is an important collectible first edition. I am happy to answer any questions or supply you with more photos if you request them. Thank you for considering my grandfather's valuable book.
