Description: We live near where the battle of Saratoga took place. This was found in a wooded section of our back yard uber several feet of very hard gravel filled soil. This piece will come with a notarized Provence stating exactly where it was found and by whom.. This was found on private property and legaly obtained. It's a Fort Ticonderoga battle ax. It appears to have been in an explosion or seen intense fighting. It was found near General Landers Breast work. Please note the mushroomed flat, striking end. It was recovered several feet underground. It is missing the blade portion( less than an inch of the width of the cutting edge of the blade.. and shows its age and has a rough, untreated patina. 2 muskets were also found app. 700 ft from this Battle Ax. As found. Early,Revolutionary War Era metal! Surface ionization present. Offers are/ will be considered, but you won't find another example:)! of Museum quality. Thank you.
