Description: Rendezvous in Space is the story of America's man-in-space programs, projects Mercury, Gemini, Dyna-Soar, and Apollo. This book was written in 1962 and published in 1962, and is a stated First Edition book. It's really interesting to read a book that was written in that time because you can see how people envisioned space travel and exploration in the 1960s. It is so interesting to read a book from so long ago and have the understanding that we do today. For example, it talks about project Dyno-Soar, which I had never heard of. According to the book, the first orbital mission of this project was scheduled for late 1964 or early 1965 and designed to bridge the gap between the "present" x-15 rocket plane and the ASP, the aerospace plane. This is an ex-library book from a library on the Space Coast of Florida, very close to Kennedy Space Center. As such it has the typical library markings of a shelf marker on the spine, a plastic cover over the dust jacket which has been taped down to the cover of the book. This means the cover has some tape on it from where they have attached the dust jacket. The top and the bottom of the book has wear along the edges. The front flyleaf page has been torn off as part of the discard process. Also as part of the discard process the word discarded has been stamped on the title page, the library stamp on the title page has been blacked out, the library stamps on the edges of the pages have also been locked out.
