Description: London Fog has been a staple of American clothing manufacturing for 100 years with a reputation of quality. Over the years the design of their clothing has changed with the times without straying too far from their signature all weather coats. This women's Maincoat screams 1960s to me. The large pointy collar, the bright red color, the epaulets on the shoulders and the "midi" length all say to me. It came from the estate of a woman about 10 years older than I am. (I'm 71) I think it was a beloved piece of clothing, and was worn quite a bit as it is slightly faded with signs of wear, but it was also carefully maintained and is extremely clean. And what about that plush zip-out lining? It's a miracle when those don't get lost. I put it on and I felt great! I was wearing it without the liner and it had a great drape and a really nice fit, despite being a little bit too big. If you look at the pictures you can see all the great details. The red plaid wool blend muffler was hanging with it on the hanger and they let me have it with the coat. I don't think it was made to go with the coat but they've been friends for a long time so I guess they should stay together. Here are some helpful measurements: Shoulder to hem: 48" Front pit to pit: 20" Front shoulder to shoulder: 16" Center back, collar seam to hem: 46" Back pit to pit: 19" Back across yoke: 15" As stated in the description, the coat is slightly faded, and it shows wear around the collar. Because of this I have priced it accordingly.
