Description: Recording King ROS-G6 Acoustic Guitar (2018) Excellent, natural-gloss finish, 12-fret 000 (Auditorium, a mid-sized guitar) w/ Padded Acoustic Guitar Backpack Tonerite Treated for 168 Hours Size, shape and tone of this guitar all figure perfectly towards singing and songwriting, couch or grab it and go! A great fit to hand and body, the guitar’s low action makes for easy play while working on a song. And the sound is terrific, warm, clearly projected and intimate or edgy, depending on your mood and the music. It sings well up the neck, while the bass provides a firm foundation for harmonies, with the tonal range well-balanced throughout. The neck is quick, the body light, and the ease of play and handling make for fluid sessions where the focus is on music, not guitar build obstructions that get in the way. This 12-fret 000 instantly feels right. Not only does it carry well in the hands and arms, the guitar is simply beautiful. The glowing striated spruce top and the warmly luxuriant mahogany back are perfectly offset with the luminescence of the tortoise-style bindings and rosette. It’s the kind of guitar that makes you want to pick it up to look closer, to spend fifteen minutes playing it, only to find yourself playing an hour or more later. Why do I sell? I really admire and did some good work with this guitar – and saw that with its low action, easy play, great sound and the manageable body/neck, it could be a work horse studio and songwriting guitar. But I soon found a 12-fret ROS-10 by Recording King. They’re difficult to find because they’re an older model and are not much on the market, plus they’re more expensive. Not often seen, I was lucky for it to come up as quickly as it did even though I had just acquired the ROS-G6. As for care, my guitars are in a smoke-free and controlled environment. The ROS-G6 has largely been un-played and is protected, with slackened strings to keep minimum pressure on the neck, as recommended for long storage. Further, it’s been Tonerite treated for a full week and again recently. The Tonerite system provides a vibrational processing that helps align and so reinforce the musical resonant characteristics of the guitar. Much as regular playing makes a fine instrument sound better, so does Tonerite. Regular use keeps guitars “warmed up.” I treat all of my acoustic guitars with Tonerite, finding that they respond to the treatment with greater harmonic depth while their dynamic range is also improved. The results of treatment can be dramatic, especially on one that has never been treated and not played in awhile. If you haven’t played a 12-fret, you’re in for a surprise because of the added warmth and fullness of tone that a shorter neck, with more fretboard attached to the body, brings to the sound. Have problems holding a larger instrument and stretching fingers for chords? With the narrower and shorter neck, the guitar has an easier reach for the next chord for both arm and fingers. For the brief time I played it, it was an inspiring guitar. I hope to see it go to someone who will appreciate it and get great usage from it regularly.
