This type was the early Garrard 301, Schedule No. 1 grease bearing type, Later, the oil bearing type in Schedule No. 2 and later, It was also used in the early version of Garrard 401. In Garrard 401, the same bearings were used in the opposite direction. The same bearing is used in the Garrard 401, but the dome-shaped part receives the underside of the shaft. Therefore, the sintered metal bearing itself is the same as that of GALLARD 301, only the upper and lower parts are different. GALLARD 301 and GALLARD 401 use the same bearings. The newly manufactured parts are made from the final (worn) version of the original Garrard 401 thrust bearing. The new part was made from a study of the thrust bearing of the last (worn) version of the Garrard 401. The prototypes were made from sintered metal with the exact same shape as the dome-shaped original, and finally a mold was made to mass produce the thrust bearing. Finally, a mold was made for the mass production of the thrust bearing and a new one was manufactured.
