Description: Please STOP here if you don't have a carburetor to send, and read the next sentence before buying this auction. I recommend that you don't buy it until you have your carb almost ready to ship to me. (I change this introduction almost weekly as folks continue to buy it thinking it is for a replacement carb - it is not). This affects shipping time as it only takes me about a week or less to get it back in the mail to you. This is a Premium REBUILD SERVICE for YOUR Rochester 4G or 4GC 4 BBL Carburetor, also known as a 4-Jet or YOUR Rochester Quadra-Jet (or QuadraJet). If you have a two-carb set up, I am offering a discount for you. I don't rebuild electronic units because they require adjustment on a running engine with an analyzer to adjust the idle mixture. There is also no way to test the electronic devices other than for continuity. Please check the pictures of the Quadrajet. If you have one with two plastic plug-ins with 2 and 3 connectors, don't send it, as I will have to return it at your cost. You will get your own, but better, carb back. You get 4 new correct size main metering jets (2 for your QJet), new ethanol-proof accelerator pump, gaskets, and polished stainless steel fasteners for the bowl cover. Floats are tested and can be replaced with good used ones if defective for an extra $25. Each carb is bench-tested and set to specifications. All parts are removed, de-rusted, polished, and coated for improved appearance and longer life. The three mating surfaces will be checked for trueness and brought back to specification if needed. Throttle and choke shafts are removed, cleaned and lubricated properly for smooth operation. Bushings will be installed if needed. All bench adjustments are checked for accuracy. I have included a recent "before" picture to show that almost anything can be saved. You will get one back that looks like the "after" pictures. I will check and can change the jet size when installing the new ones, if you like. The shipping time of 15 days is only a swag, as I don't know how long it will take you to ship your carb to me. It will, however, only take 2-3 days to get it back in the mail once it arrives and I have the correct kit on hand. Typical turn around is about a week start to finish, depending on which shipping method you choose. I will pay your return shipping at the most efficient method, usually UPS or Fedex ground service. You can opt for an upgrade to expedited shipment for the difference (just let me know for a quote). It should cost your around $25-$30 to ship it to me if you log on and print your own label. Expect about a $15 upcharge if you let the clerk in the store do it for you. I rebuild quite a few of these particular carbs each year, so you can be confident that it will be right. I do not post your personal questions on ebay, so feel free to ask anything. Here is my only "disclaimer": While I have resurrected many of these antiques, there are some that are beyond repair. If you send a carb which has internal damage from a previous rebuild attempt or passages that cannot be unplugged, or one that has been sitting in a state of disrepair for decades, I will give it a shot but might have to inform you and return the unit at your cost after refunding what you paid for the rebuild service. I can replace any missing parts that are included in rebuild kits, but not missing hardware at this price. (I have some, but check first). So, if you think there will be any sort of problem, particularly with units that have not recently been in service, please drop me a note (or picture) before buying the auction, so we can discuss it. Also, I will need to know the year, make and model of the vehicle of your carb There are several different sizes and configurations of these carbs with different size gaskets and accelerator pumps. This information alone can cut a week off the turnaround time if I don't have to get the carb to find out which kit is needed.
