Description: For sale is a rare piece of US phonograph history and still relevant today! A large piece of fabric that most likely came from a phonograph showroom display, backdrop or drapes. The piece is approximately 43 X 100 inches. One end is hemmed, the other rough cut. One edge is the selvedge and the other even rougher cut. The color is still vibrant and consistent but it does have many condition issues. The narrow end opposite the hem has about 6 inches of pulls and small holes (photos 2 and 3). There are about 5 tears to the selvedge edge (the worst is shown in photo 4). There are about 8 moderate to light stains sized between a quarter and silver dollar (12). There's a humdinger of a hole with starburst stain about 3 1/2" diameter (photo 5). There's a 1 X 2 inch hole by one of the dogs about 10 inches from the hemmed end (8). There are black threads loosely stitched in and would be easy to remove. And about 20 small and smaller holes distributed throughout (9 and 10). There is a 1/2 inch lightened line across the whole width, approximately 10 inches from the bottom (1 and 11) You can tell by the first photo that it's still a pretty handsome piece of fabric and there are large sections not impacted by its abuses. Visually an 8/10. Not bad for a 100+- piece of fabric. It feels like a lot of cotton in it.
