Description: Works with electricity, but I did not try with batteries. No reason to think it wouldn’t work, I just didn’t test it. There is many switches and levers that I really don't know they do. I am not sure how this works so I am not sure if it works as it should. It does power on and all of the buttons appear to work, but I had to hold to volume bottom to get sound. The sound was good and without static. Not sure if I was doing something wrong. There does appear to be a short in the cord, as I moved it slightly and it shut off, turned back on again when it was moved again. The volume, tuner dial, tone adjustment, etc. all seem to function well. Antenna is straight. Not perfect cosmetically, but pretty good. A couple dents on the speaker cover. See pics for details. I do not know a lot about this radio, but if you have any questions feel free to ask and I'll do my best to answer. I am not sure how this items works but I wanted to be transparent. I am sure someone who knows how this works would be much more knowledgeable.
