Description: Vintage Foster Bros. Kitchen, Butcher knife. Overall length is approximately 16.5" and blade length is just a hair over 11". Has lots of life left and looks like mostly it's original shape and not over sharpened. Curved swept back blade similar to a Japanese tanto but I see other chefs blades of this shape called a "scimitar". Blade has "Foster Bros., Made in U S A" about an inch from the handle on one side. Full tang as the blade steel is the same size as the handle. Handel is wood with brass fasteners. One side has 2 round clover leaf type stamps in the wood (Pattee Cerclee or Iron Cross?). I haven't found any others like this with the stamps on the handles, mostly gold star handles. If anyone has additional information or accurate age, I'll post to the listing. Buyer to pay priority mail shipping from Zip 48178 (Michigan), insurance extra if requested. Payment must be received within 7 days of the end of the auction. Local pickup is always free. Combine auctions and save on shipping. I can ship small items in 24 hours after payment. Anything larger, I ship on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
