Description: This rare vintage "Comoy's" 8 ounce round tobacco tin measuring 2 1/4" x 3 5/8" is in very good condition, with some age related paint chips and discoloration. There are no dents of rust. The red, gold and black graphics are bold and colorful. In 1825, french Comoy brothers began manufacturing pipes in St.Claude, France. One of their sons moved to London in 1850 and helped establish the Briar Pipe Trade. Around WW1, the company started to manufacture pipe tobacco in London.
