Description: eBay Listing Template r1 TEXT OF ARTICLE FROM THE ELGIN DAILY NEWS, SEPTEMBER 23rd, 1882 THE ALARM LOCK WORKS At 115 Lake Street, Chicago is the office of the ALARM LOCK WORKS of which Messrs. Buck & McRoberts are the proprietors. This firm sis composed of I. N. Buck of this city, patentee of the new alarm clock and M. McRoberts, practical lock manufacturer. The firm is engaged exclusively in the manufacture of the ‘Buck Lock’, which is certainly a model in its way. The lock is made to put on any ordinary door and is so constructed that by turning a small metal key the alarm is et, and the slightest turn of the door knob will set off the alarm. It can be set so as to ring a quick alarm and stop, or so as to keep up a protracted alarm. The locks are manufactured at Norwich and Bridgeport, Conn., and the factory is now producing one hundred per day. Canvassers are already on the road selling the lock and the firm has a lot of orders already booked. Mr. Buck will supply any Elgin parties with the locks by application to him. As a safety guard, the Buck lock is a treasure! SOURCE: ILLINOIS STATE LIBRARY & OFFICE OF THE ILLINOIS SECRETARY OF STATE ON LINE SEE OUR FULL INVENTORY of RIM LOCKS w/KEYS! Village Salvage • 85 S.
