Description: Here offered is quite a rare specimen of native gold from the southern Black Forest near Freiburg. Specimens of gold from Germay are very rare and usually only show up in old collections like this one did. The specimen features 3 little masses of gold on the top along with a few more blebs on the side and I'm sure theres more inside. Also in close association is some stibnite and other antimony sulfides. This is one of the best known localities for gold in the Black Forest but they are pretty rare nonetheless. Small specimen but quite rich for the locality. If one looks up the locality on Mindat, there isn't even a picture of a gold specimen from the locality showing just how rare they are! approx. 1x1 cm
