Here’s a new watch, that to me represents huge value and something I’ve been enjoying wearing a lot over the last week and will continue to do so until it leaves me… the whole watch is just so good! From its golden champagne panda dial, the incredible vibrant oil slick patina to the gold on that perfectly sized 37.5mm case, all the way down to of course the legendary Zenith ‘El Primero’ cal.3019PHC that beats away inside. This watch just has it for me. These watches are some of the most interesting in the line up of iconic 1970’s chronographs and are powered by arguably the best movement produced in this period. The original Zenith A386 ‘El Primero’ that premiered this same movement, is now a 20k plus watch and the Rolex even more. Hence why this watch, priced at a mere fraction, but not of lesser quality, is a remarkable value proposition in an ever growing market. This one coming as a great set, complete with its original inner & outer boxes, its booklet and Movado calf leather strap. The watch is sold as seen with a vibrant oxidation to the case that really looks incredible! This of course can be polished off if you prefer a more uniform look. It does, however, show that the watch is in its original state and has not been polished. The case overall is in very good order with only minor scratches and marks as you can see. The watch also retains its original Movado crystal with the ‘Fedora’ logo etched in the centre. The only notable dent is just to the right of the crown , but that’s not very noticeable, the crown also has some plate loss. The case plating is strong with no wear/rub. The iconic 3019PHC movement is running strong and is clean. No service history is known. The strap is practically brand new, I assume a later one but nice to have with the set. The dial is pretty much perfect! Some marks to the hands and subs when inspection using a strong loupe but nothing displeasing to the naked eye. Over all this watch is in amazing condition and truly is a great find, a watch that has strong historical importance that can be worn daily. The perfect combination.
