Description: Rare lot of seven mounted albumen photos of an excursion to Trenton Falls in Oneida County, New York, near Utica, with photos of both the Falls and environs and the various visitors. All seven with excellent tone and clarity, measuring 4.75" by 3.5", all mounted to thick card mounts, total dimensions 5.25" by 4.25". Dated August 15, 1894, in script on back, as well as the name "Johnston" next to what seems to be inventory numbers (New York state photographer John S. Johnston?). All in excellent condition, with only minimal wear to edges. Rare - the only other single-image (that is, non-stereoscope) albumen photos of Trenton Falls I could locate online are in the collections of the Met in New York and the National Gallery of Art.
