Description: 11" Gebruder KühnlenzFrench Market Cabinet DollRare Early Mold #28 Closed Mouth / Paperweight Eyes Fully-Jointed Straight-Wrist Body Original Antique Doll - Made in Germany c.1888 [ FEATURES AND DETAILS... ] This rare little closed-mouth child is just as sweet as they come! She measures approximately 11", and is one of the earliest produced by Gerbruder Kühnlenz after they began in 1884, putting out the finest bisque dolls for the French Market. Her markings are: "GK 28-23"She has finely threaded blue paperweight eyes, exquisite face painting--with multi-stroke brows, painted lashes, outlined lips, and accented nostrils and corners of the eyes. She has a cork pate and lovely, curly brunette human hair wig. Her little composition body is jointed at the shoulders, elbows, hips, and knees. Your doll is fabulously dressed in an outfit made by a seamstress out of antique materials. The dress is silk, in a dusty rose color, with beautifully executed shirring, layered skirt, silk ribbon rose accent at the neck, and a silk sash and floral accent at the waist. It also has lace trim at the collar and cuffs. She has a matching hat made of the same materials: dusty rose silk, lace, with ribbon and rose accents.Her underclothes consist of a half slip and pantaloons, and she is wearing socks and tie-on shoes. Her pierced ears are adorned with freshwater pearl earrings. Just a rare and lavishly dressed little lady, the perfect size for your cabinet collection. NOTE: Photo props not included: DOLL STAND [ CONDITION... ] - Beautiful antique condition -- from a non-smoking environment.- No issues noticed with the bisque after careful examination, other than the tiny ear flakes as pictured.
