These are the hand drawn production art each unique , some are from films others are caricatures of the staff themselves. These are mostly unsigned but were collected by Homer Brightman who was a Disney writer artist and animator during the Disney Golden age of the 1930’s who knew the artist. She worked for decades at Disney as an animator and received credit for Hansel and Gretal as an animator in 1954. However the staff adored her. The amount of caricatures that include her was amazing. She Died in Mesquite TX ++++ Ward Kimball 1914 – 2002 Ward Kimball was born in Minneapolis March 4th1914. He attended Covina High School and Santa Barbara High School the attendedSanta Barbara School of art majoring in painting and illustrating. His college teacher suggested he apply toDisney and in1934 at 20 he joined. Quickly advancing up the ranks frominbetweener (some who creates the fill in frames to create the illusion ofmovement) to animator in 4 years. Working on Silly Symphony and was given hissolo animation animating grasshopper in Woodland Café (1937), He became one ofDisney’s Nine old men. And he was selected to work on Snow White and the SevenDwarfs. He retired from Disney in 1957. \ Ward kept himself busy producing films as a jazz trombonis this group made 13 records. He continued to work for Disney animating anddirecting The Mouse Factory. He died in Los Angeles California from complications from pneumonia at 88. +++++ Homer Brightman Bio 1901 – 1988 American Born in Seattle, Washington, Homer Brightman writer (147 credits),director (1 credit), story artist and animator. He joined Disney Studio in 1935. During those 15 years often call the“Golden Age of Disney Animation “ and he worked on the Snow White and the SevenDwarfs, Cinderella and Oscar winning short “Lend a Paw” as well as many more.After Disney he worked for Walter Lantz Production, MGM cartoon studio, UPA andthe other top Animation houses of the time. The list of films is too long toname but his hands were in on the most memorable animation of the time. FromCinderella, Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, Chilly Willy and the popular, WoodyWoodpecker. He also published (underDisney nameplate) many books including Mary Poppins, Uncle Scrooge. His book”Life in the Mouse House” was published after his death to protect his fellowDisney co-workers.
