Clean interior featuring a long, cylindrical neck over a very broad, spherical base. Covered in a deep hunter green glaze with streaks of olive and brown tones. High glaze finish. The flash in my images make the green stand out more than it does in natural light. The piece displays darker in less light. There is a recessed circle on the bottom of the base showing it has not been drilled for an electric cord. It is in mint condition with no crazing, scratches, hairlines or repairs. Impressed to base Volkmar/1. Mr. Volkmar worked in Tremont, New York. The last known working date of his pottery is 1911 and he died in 1914. Holding the base is like grabbing a steering wheel.
