Description: Beryl var. Morganite, Elbaite, etc. Gillette Quarry (J-J Mine; Haddam Neck Quarry), Haddam, Middlesex County, Connecticut, USA 9 x 8.5 x 5 cm, main crystal approx. 2.3 cm This is a rare example of a terminated pale pink beryl crystal in matrix from the classic Gillette Quarry in Connecticut. The matrix is rather fractured, but the beryl crystal appears to be solid and complete. There is a second, partial morganite crystal adjacent to it, on the edge of the matrix. A few small rock fragments on the edge of the specimen are loose - nowhere near the morganite. I wasn't sure if it made more sense to stabilize or trim them, so I left it as-is. Ex. NM Tech I'm streamlining my eBay listing process by not including new locality write-ups here. I will include some in the future, but it takes too much time.
