Description: Rare Bent Metal Shaft Croquet Mallet w/ Specialized Handles & Wooden Head This auction is for a Rare Bent Metal Shaft Croquet Mallet w/ Specialized Handles & Wooden Head. Unsure if this is for disabled players but it is definitely an interesting piece. Item shows minimal normal surface wear but is in very nice overall condition. Shaft securely attached and item is solidly made. Features:Measures about 32.5" high. About 6" at top and bottom of handle are securely wrapped in cordage. Two "Specialized" metal handle grips attached to top crossbar of shaft. One of these handles is missing the bolt, but it looks like your ordinary screw of bolt would work. Wooden head with rubber end pieces measures about 9" x 2 1/8" x 2". Some minimal wear to wooden head but it is still secure and solid. I joined several online croquet groups and shared photos, both US and International, trying to find out any info I could about this mallet. Several people from different groups said they had heard a story about this exact mallet, and that it was a "serious mallet used by a serious player".
