Description: Up for sale is this Smith Company exact weight scale. This scale measures ounces by balancing items on the top plates. The scale is in very good overall condition considering it's age of about 100 years old. I spent three hours cleaning the base, top, underneath, both plates and the ruler. On the square plate, the round base is missing the three screws. This does not affect the scale in any way. The base measures: 21 in. wide by 8 in. deep by 4 1/4 in. high. The top part measures: 17 in. high off the base, the width is 4 1/2 in. and the depth is 6 in. The round plate measures: 8 1/4 in. across. The other plate measures: 10 in by 10 1/2 in. On the front plate it reads: Exact Weight Scale, The Smith Scale Company, Columbus, Ohio. Pats, Nov 24. Feb 23, March 22. The scale is made from cast aluminum with some metal parts.
