Description: A rare and unusual antique Memento Mori display, a plaster skull sculpture in a Victorian glass dome display jar.This is such a fantastic piece of decor, the skull is an adult human sized skull, very well detailed and very well kept, made from plaster with a light glazing it is early 20th century, possibly created for learning / medical use.It has been paired with this fabulous original Victorian glass dome display jar, these bell shaped dome jars or cloches were traditionally used for taxidermy or botanical displays, it has the original velvet covering in black and black lacquered wooden stand with bun feet.It came to us together and I think it makes for a fantastic duo!
