Description: Rare Antique c1850 Scottish Horn Snuff Powder Mull Flask Box, 5.25” Tall. In excellent, original condition as seen in photos. After an extensive internet search, I could not find a flask quite similar to this one. The most similar items were Scottish, circa 1850, I believe this is also. If you know better, please message me.This flask was found full of a very fine, tan powder which I disposed of, as eBay probably doesn’t want me selling either tobacco or gunpowder. The powder did not have a particular odor, was not very soluble in water, nor did it burn easily, and I concluded that it was probably snuff. This flask is beautifully made, with a very nice hand feel and patina. It is pinned together with color contrasting pins. There is a brass loop fitted to the cap and the original hide strap keeps the cap with the flask. There may have been a small scoop or spoon attached via another strap, as there is a second knot of hide attached to the loop. The cap fits snugly into the top of the flask.About 5.25” tall including the brass ring on cap.Ask questions if you have them.USPS Ground Shipping at customer’s expense.
