Description: Rare Alymer 7 Piece French Foreign Legion Soldiers In Action With a French Hotchkiss Gun Set Almost never even seen available on eBay, nor in the recent past it looks like too.These may have been made in very limited numbers to be so uncommon and unavailable.These are not made by Britains as they have much more detail and are solid cast as well. Note, The Hotchkiss gun & its crew is made up of 3 piece set composed of the 2 kneeling men crew and the gun itself. The Gun was originally used during WWI and later in the dry, arid inhospitable deserts of North Africa against the various desert tribes who rose up to fight the colonial french forces there for their independence. The Legion was made famous by the movies like:Adventure in Sahara Alarm in Morocco Arabian Tights Beau Geste (at least 3 versions) The Last Remake of Beau Geste Captain Gallant of the Foreign Legion Desert Hell Legionnaire March or Die And a whole ton more films Metal figures are marked: Alymer Spain on their round bases. All are all mounted on brass base plates About" 2 1/8" or (55 mm) tall So...... they are basically: 54MM, 1/35 or 1/32 scale or such like Basic Notes: Figures The photos may show some pesky, static clinging dust that looks much worse than in real life & to the naked eye. You will get what's shown in any case. These have been on display, no original box is available, that can be good as there no extra clutter and so nothing to store. In 2014 the Alymer molds were acquired by Tonio Marti (a principle in the original Aylmer organization) and thus Alymer has been resurrected and exists today as a highly regarded purveyor of exquisite model soldiers and personalities.
