Kind regards, Linda Up for sale is this ADORABLE WW2 Handmade Felt Sweetheart Army Dolls ! I absolutely adore these gorgeous little dollies, it's a very sad parting. The level of detail that has gone into making these in quite incredible. Made with amazing hand sewing skills and a heart full of love and pining, most likely for a partner off to war. These are a small size, but the details and design are perfection. Right down to their happy little faces, their clothing, and even the little notebook she carries. These are what was called 'Make and Do'. When everything was rationed, and to keep busy during blackouts or in bunkers women would make exquisite things like this. These are made entirely of 100% wool felt and wool stuffing and yarn. These are American and came from an estate in the US. I love how you know right away what era they're from, by their hair styles and clothing. They have also been permanently tied together with a cord made from wool yarn, keeping them together forever These are not in perfect condition. Moths have had a few lovely dinner parties on them and they have collected dust + dirt on their journey. But I think that can be forgiven, just for how wonderful they are. And being true survivors ! These need to go to a passionate doll collector who has and loves an eclectic and diverse collection, where they can be loved and appreciated. And perhaps a collector who is knowledgeable in cleaning them up a bit etc. These are very RARE and display beautifully. I used to have them on display in a cabinet of curiosities in my living room, and visitors would always comment on how gorgeous these are.
