Description: Offered here is the rare, German antique 3 Volume Set DIE PSALMEN by Karl Gerok. The set offers a thorough look the the Book of Psalms. The volumes are beautifully hard-bound with striking silver printing and design on the cover and spine. The set was published in Stuttgart in 1891 and is still in very good condition--complete and intact, with no missing, loose, or torn pages. A previous owner's Ex Libris stamp is on the title page of each volume. There are remarkably slight signs of wear on the corners of the covers and at the top and bottom of the spines. The back cover of Volume 1 has a area along the bottom 2/3 of the spine where the surface-layer of the spine has worn away from the back cover itself. Volume 1 comments on Psalms 1 through 50 Volume 2 comments on Psalms 51 through 100 Volume 3 comments on Psalms 101 through 150 NOTE: The photographs don't do the books justice. Because of my old camera's auto focus and light settings, the pictures are not sharp and appear grainy. I believe I am the 4th owner--an initial owner passed it on to Pastor F.W. Gahre. Upon his death it was given to a family member, who in her later years gave the set to me in the early 1990s Now that I'm passed 80, I am gradually downsizing my own library. That means this set is now ready for its 5th owner, and is being offered on ebay with these guidelines: 1. Shipping is via the USPS Media Mail and only to locations in the 50 states of the USA. 2. Payment is to be made within three days of purchase. Please look carefully at the photos, and feel welcome to questions before you bid. I'll do my best to answer promptly. Thanks for taking the time to look at this listing.
