The painting -- signed in 1966 -- shows a wintry scene of reflection in a Paris park in 1966 as political storms brewed, leading to France's "May 1968 Revolution." Mr. Wharton did not sell through galleries. His paintings are therefore un-appraisable. Private collectors include Steven Spielberg. My late dad - a close friend of Mr. Wharton, helped support Wharton's nascent literary career by buying Wharton's paintings. The painting is in excellent condition. Unframed.
