"This lure was made only in the latter part of 1945, that’s because it has the surface hardware holding the hooks from the 1946 to 1966 period, but is has the Scoop Lip from the early period of 1938 to 1945. It’s called a transitional lure, going from one manufacturing period to the next manufacturing period. That’s why this lure was only made for one year like this! There might be more like this lure made this way because at the end of World War Two they still had parts left over from previous years! So instead of putting on a new diving lip, they put on an older diving lip because they still had some left over from previous years but they used the new surface hardware because there was no stock left over of the 2 piece version hardware! Difficult to understand sometimes but Heddon did this to save money instead of throwing away old stock!"
