RARE 1935 FREUNDLICH QUINTUPLETS, DIONNE QUINTS, SET OF 5, ALL ORIGINAL

Description: Up for sale is a set of 5 Freundlich Quintuplets, made in 1935 to represent the famous Dionne Quints who were born May 28, 1934, they are unmarked which was typical of Freundlich dolls. Madame Alexander had the licensing rights to the Dionne Quint dolls, so Freundlich could not make their set look like Alexander Quints, these Quints had molded blonde hair and blue eyes instead of brown like the Alexander quints, they all have great face paint as shown, blue eyes, pink, rosy cheeks, red lips, no paint loss. Two are wearing their original pink organdy dresses with lace trim and four are wearing their white flannel diapers secured with tiny goldtoned safety pins, (1 pin on the pink dress is broken but useable.) These are all composition, measure 7 inches tall when laid down, but have baby bent legs and are made to sit, they are all jointed at the neck, shoulders and hips. A little loose but not bad. There is a few small cracks and a little face crazing on one of them but not much for the age. Their painted compo finish shows a bit of factory roughness on a couple, not as finely finished as Alexanders, but still just as sweet, these sets are almost impossible to find, there was not nearly as many made as the Alexander Quints, if you love Dionne Quint dolls and memorabilia, you will like these.Almost all of the examples of these I see are missing paint on the eyes. The paint on these eyes are in amazing condition, so they look so much more real because of that.This is as found from an Estate. I did not attempt to clean the bodies or the clothes.
