Description: An extremely rare original antique hand- colored wood engraving titled “The Great Naval Expedition-The Landing of the U.S. Troops at Fort Walker, Port Royal Harbor, S. C., After its Evacuation of the Rebel Forces on the Afternoon of November 7, 1861” made from a sketch by a Civil War artist and which appeared in the Pictorial Battles of the Civil War produced by the Sherman Publishing Co., 1884-85. The engraving is matted, unframed, and overall measures 14 inches x 18 inches in landscape format enclosed in a protective plastic envelope. Hand written inscription detailing the engraving on verso.
