Description: You are looking at a press kit for the 1981 drama Ragtime, which was promoted as a big film with an ensemble cast of exciting new talent and the "return" of screen legend James Cagney. Based on the novel by E. L. Doctorow, the film follows multiple characters in New York City at the turn of the 20th century. The original plastic folder of the kit is missing, but the production notes form a "book" of almost 50 pages housing the photographs. The notes are extensive, covering the storyline, the cast, the major crew, the novel, the screenplay, and the music. 14 B&W 8 x 10 glossy photographs are also included, usually focusing on major cast members such as Mandy Patinkin, Elizabeth McGovern, Howard Rollins, and of course, Cagney. These are in excellent condition and are still wrapped in their original, descriptive Paramount "tags." I have left these in place and the pictures above show some examples.
