AND IF YOU ENJOY THE TOP COUNTRY ARTISTS PRESENTED BY ONE OF COUNTRY'S TOP DJ'S, YOU HAVE COME TO THE RIGHT PLACE!The show is called THE GENE PRICE COUNTRY MUSIC EXPRESS It was an enormously popular show in its day. IT WAS A WEEKLY 30 MINUTE SHOW SPONSORED BY THE UNITED STATES ARMY RECRUITING COMMAND FEATURING GENE PRICE PRESENTING LEGENDARY COUNTRY ARTISTS AND SONGS THAT YOU MAY NOT HAVE HEARD IN A LONG TIME.THAT WAS ONE OF THE DELIGHTS OF THIS SHOW.GENE PLAYED CLASSIC HITS BY CLASSIC ARTISTS AND OFTEN HITS THAT HAD GOTTEN LOST OVER THE YEARS. THERE WERE NO COMMERCIALS DURING THE SHOW - ONLY A FEW SHORT PROMOTIONAL SPOTS FOR THE UNITED STATES ARMY IN EACH SHOW.IT WAS BACK IN THE EARLIER DAYS OF RADIO SHOWS WHEN THE ARMED SERVICES DID THEIR ADVERTISING THROUGH 15 OR 30 MINUTE RADIO SHOWS SENT TO AFFILIATE STATIONS WHICH USED THE PROGRAMMING TO FULFILL THEIR PUBLIC SERVICE COMMITMENTS FOR THEIR LICENSE BY PROVIDING ENTERTAINING PROGRAMMING WITH NO COMMERCIALS AND ONLY A FEW SPOT ANNOUNCEMENTS FOR THE MILITARY SERVICE THAT SPONSORED THE SHOWIN APRIL, 1977, THE MILITARY SERVICES DISCONTINUED ALL THEIR PUBLIC SERVICE PROGRAMMING IN FAVOR OF SPOT COMMERCIALS ON COMMERCIAL NETWORK PROGRAMMING, BELIEVING THAT THEY WOULD REACH MORE POTENTIAL LISTENERS. WHETHER OR NOT THIS GOAL WAS ACCOMPLISHED HAS NEVER BEEN DETERMINED, BUT THESE EARLY SHOWS ARE UNIQUE AND SOUGHT AFTER BY COLLECTORS.THIS IS LIKELY BECAUSE THE PRODUCTION WAS PRISTINE, THE DJ's WERE THE TOP OF THEIR FIELDS, THE ALBUMS BEAUTIFULLY DECORATED, AND THE LP ALBUM COVERS EXTREMELY ATTRACTIVE. AND, THE VINYL ITSELF WAS OF THE HIGHEST QUALITY.Gene Price (February 27, 1944 – August 13, 2013), also credited as Willard Eugene Price and Willard E. Price, was an American songwriter, primarily noted for his songwriting association with Buck Owens. He was also a member of Merle Haggard's backing band The StrangersPrice is a musician and vocalist, in addition to being a songwriter. He was born in Shamrock, Texas His initial success was through his association with the Bakersfield sound. Price was a bass player for Merle Haggard and a songwriter with Buck Owens. He was particularly successful as a recorded songwriter on various Capitol Records releases in the early 1970s. One of his best known songs is "In The Arms of Love", co-written with Owens and recorded by Merle Haggard among others.Other songs for which Price is known include "Let's Keep The Memories Warm", solely written by Price and recorded by Terry Stafford in 1973, for inclusion on Stafford's album Say, Has Anybody Seen My Sweet Gypsy Rose Other songs written with Owens include "The Biggest Storm of All", "Natural Born Loser", "Across This Town and Gone", "Something's Wrong", "I'll Be All Right Tomorrow" and "I've Carried This Torch Much Too Long".Later in his career, Price had a degree of pop music success with some of his songs. For example, his song "Come To Me", solely written by Price was recorded twice by Aretha Franklin within a 10-year periodIT IS A MOST ENJOYABLE AND RARE SHOW AND ONE THAT YOU WILL NOT OFTEN FIND ANYWHERE OTHER THAN KEITH'S KOLLECTABLES WHERE I STRIVE TO BRING YOU EVERY SHOW I CAN AT A RESONABLE PRICE.MOST OTHER SELLERS WILL PRESENT TO YOU ONLY THE MOST POPULAR SHOWS; HOWEVER, THESE SHOWS ARE OFTEN THE HEART OF MUSIC WITH SONGS THAT THE OTHER SHOWS JUST NEVER PLAYED.GENE PLAYED THEM!!EACH DOUBLE LP CAME IN AN ATTRACTIVE DOUBLE ALBUM COVER AS CAN BE SEEN IN THE LISTING PICTURES.EACH ALBUM CONTAINED FOUR SEPARATE HALF HOUR SHOWS SO YOU ARE ACTUALLY GETTING FOUR SHOWS IN ONE!THIS ALBUM CONTAINS THE FOUR SHOWS FOR THE MONTH OF FEBRUARY, 1974, WITH THE COVER ALBUM IN EXCELLENT CONDITION AS PICTUREDEACH SHOW'S CONTENTS CAN BE SEEN IN THE LISTING PICTURESSO HERE ARE THE BIG QUESTIONS IF YOU DO NOT KNOW MUCH ABOUT RADIO SHOWS.: WHAT IS A RADIO SHOW? WHY COLLECT THEM? WHERE DO THEY COME FROM? Well, those are good questions, especially if you have never known of them. Radio Shows are syndicated productions by one of several large and small distributors who supply broadcast product to radio stations normally during weekends when the usual air personalities have a break. Many air on Saturday or Sunday mornings, afternoons or evenings or less often during overnight segments. They often feature some of the best known voices for their genre from across the country thus the Dick Clark's and Casey Kasem's and Rick Dees and Dick Bartley and so many others. People collect them for various reasons. Some just collect the series because they like it and want them all. Some collect their favorite artists or genre of music. Rather than an album by the artist or a compilation downloaded through iTunes or wherever, they have a unique presentation of their favorite artist or music not available anywhere else and always with dj presentations which were very entertaining. Some collect interviews with their favorite artists as most shows had interview segments. Some collect commercials especially old car commercials but certainly not limited to only those. AND, these shows are in limited quantity. They were pressed just for affiliate stations in the United States. Many have just a few still in circulation. Some of the more popular shows may have as many as a hundred of each week's show that survived but think about it. A hundred for some 200 million Americans and millions of overseas collectors who look for unique presentations of their favorite artists or form of music is about as rare as rare can be. Many stations just tossed them away after airing because the storage space at most radio stations was very limited. (Believe me I know - I worked at just such a station for over seven glorious years!)SO they are increasingly hard to find. They were first distributed on reel to reel tape or on lp, later on CD and even later (after 2000 for most shows) on CDR. Now they are not available at all to collectors since they are distributed by digital download much like you get your music from iTunes. These shows become rarer and rarer every day because the people who buy them hold on to them. The shows that you get now and hold on to will never decrease in value and only increase. I have prided myself since the start to provide the best and fairest cost with a no holds barred guarantee that you will be happy or I refund your money. I sell them for near what I bought them for. I give volume discounts and discount postage always. As the postal service increases their rates, my shipping rates over the years has decreased. And, I have one of the biggest radio show libraries in the world consisting of over fifteen thousand shows, so many that I don't even know all that I have and am sometimes amazed when I go to look for one show and find another that I did not realize I had. Finally, it is Americana at its best. Whether the show be from the 60's or 2000's, rock, countdown, oldies, country, classical, religious, jazz or big band, it is unique and home grown. And you just can't find them anywhere. Even record stores that still exist will rarely have any. Radio shows are wonderful representations of the real golden age of radio at least music wise. And every one you buy is an original, not a copy, not a remake - all are limited editions in the hundreds at most and most much less. Once you get hooked, like me, it is a love affair for life! Welcome to the Club! IF YOU LIKE RADIO SHOWS FEATURING THE BEST MUSIC OF ALL TIME IN EVERY GENRE IMAGINABLE, YOU HAVE COME TO THE RIGHT PLACE. IT IS A RARE OPPORTUNITY TO HEAR YOUR FAVORITE MUSIC PRESENTED IN A FASHION THAT YOU CANNOT FIND ANYWHERE ELSE. THAT IS THE JOY OF RADIO SHOWS.It is a great variety of music along with interviews and facts. You will enjoy great music and the best part is that you can hear them again and again, over and over, whenever you want. Remember, when you buy this show, not only will you own the tunes but also interspersed between songs is fascinating commentary on the artists and songs. Also, keep in mind that this and all shows are not just about the music - the music can be found anywhere. It is the mixture of great music and great announcing that makes it so entertaining. As well, it is a piece of radio history. IT IS AMERICANA! MOST PEOPLE DON'T EVEN KNOW THESE SHOWS EXIST AND SO DON'T KNOW WHAT TREASURES THEY ARE. You just aren't going to find these shows anymore. Think of what they will be worth in a few years! (IF you wanted to sell.) I am selling to share with other music lovers what I was able to get at a reasonable price Good Luck and God Bless You.
