Description: Very rare book titled "Racing in America 1922-1936" by John Hervey. This was a special book done by The Jockey Club. This is in exceptional condition and appears to have rarely been used. There is some light wear on the cover and corners but nothing severe (these books are often well used and beat up). There is a small ding on the edge of the cover, but again nothing major. This one is also special because it includes the original card listing the corrections and a signed slip by Walter S. Vosburgh to Edward F. Whitney, who I assume is of the famous Whitney racing family. Both appear to have been affixed in the book, probably on the contents page, but are loose now. This features some wonderful artwork, photos and history about racing during that time period, including horses like Gallant Fox, Equipoise, Omaha and many others. There are also profiles and photos of various tracks and horsemen. This is a large book at about 10.5"x13" and 292 pages. It is also very heavy at nearly 6 pounds, so shipping will be $24.95. I have different editions of Racing in America in my other listings. Please review the photos and use the magnify feature to review the condition. We guarantee satisfaction with the racing items we sell, so if you are not happy with it then it can be returned for a full refund, assuming it is returned in the same condition of course. Please see our other auctions for an extensive collection of historic horse racing programs, trophies and memorabilia featuring horses like Secretariat, Seattle Slew, Dr. Fager, Damascus, Dan Patch, Buckpasser, Kelso and other champions and Kentucky Derby winners. We will be selling off most of our collection over the next couple months.
