Description: Purple Transferware Plate 10.25" French Groups 1830 Floral Staffordshire READ.For sale is a Antique plate in the beautiful French Groups pattern. Though the maker has not been documented, it would have been made in the Staffordshire District of England in approximately 1830. The pattern is a botanical floral with natural exotic birds, columbine, daisies, and Forget-Me-Nots. This plate measuring 10 1/4 inch in diameter is in good used condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. There is some light staining on the front and you can feel some roughness on the edges from wear. Like most 19th century transferware, there is some crazing and typical imperfections. Despite these flaws, it is a nice example of a very scarce pattern. Please zoom in on my pictures for more detail.
