Description: Purinton Pottery USA Slip Ware RED BLOSSOM IVY Canister with Lid We are pleased to offer this lovely unmarked canister with lid in the RED BLOSSOM IVY pattern manufactured by the Purinton Pottery Company of Wellsville, Ohio and Shippenville, Pennsylvania until its closing in 1959. Purinton pieces are hand painted slip ware; the paint is under the glaze. Each piece is individually decorated with free hand brush strokes, and the decoration is absolutely permanent. This storage jar features red blossoms and stripes, green leaves and brown stems, on a cream colored background. It stands 5-1/2" tall (4" tall without the lid). It measures 6-3/8" wide and 4-5/8" deep. It is the perfect size for storing coffee, tea bags, rice, grains and other dry goods It has some craze lines on the interior that do not show through to the outside and a chip under the lid. Otherwise it is in excellent condition and will display beautifully. The white spots you see in the photos are from the flash.
