Volume one (from 1829) is the text volume, with descriptions in both French and English of Paris landmarks, like Sainte Chapelle, the Church of Notre Dame, the Louvre, etc. Featuring 200 illustrations on 100 plates, done under the direction of A. Pugin, the supervision of C. Heath, and with descriptions by L. T. Ventouillac. Most plates with tissue guard. Volume one with corners rubbed and with edge wear. Pages lightly foxed throughout, not badly effecting text. With former owner's signature on front free endpaper. Volume two with front board broken, but attached. With pages preceding title page detached, but present. This volume shows foxing and water staining throughout which effects about half of the plates. Binding rubbed and scuffed.
