Description: PRICE REDUCED 9/24/2023> American Knife Company 2-blade jacknife: Small size gentleman's knife (3-1/4" closed, main blade 2"). Plastic handles have nickel steel bolsters and badge on front, no cracks or chips at brass rivets, no shrinkage on liners. Liners are brass, blades are probably carbon steel and show light scratches from light use. Judging from profile of sharp edge, main blade is originally Wharncliffe pattern, but close inspection looks like it might have been re-shaped at the tip to hide a broken tip. NIcely altered, but shorter than original grind would have been. Both blades walk and talk as new with no half stops. Top bolster shows that blades have been tightened and operate smoothly and easily with no wobble. Made in Japan, I estimate in the 1970s to 1980s, high quality knives and blades were being produced due to popularity of katana swords and tachi daggers. This quality was due to maturation of Japanese designing, machining, and materials for manufactured goods, postwar. Fit and finish remain attractive. Compact size makes attractive and non-threatening EDC item in formal situations. Mailing only to USA-48. Postage is between $5.00---$5.85. Buyer pays $4.00, I will pay the rest. Buy my other knives at the same time and I will pack all in one package with no additional charge. Save mailing costs. Contact me with your choices!
