Description: This 1938 baby coverlet pattern and quilting stitch transfer/guide could be used to make a warm coverlet for crib, carriage, or bassinet. It is uncut and never used. It sat in a protective wrap for 96 years, waiting for the right moment!! The sweet floral design brings memories of a time in which baby clothing and crib accessories had to be handmade as ready- made items were not available. it is also a reminder of the difficulty of keeping a baby warm in unreliable heating systems and inclement weather. The package consists of the illustrated outer envelope, a thin sheet of specially treated brown paper with small yellow dots (when gently pressed with a warm iron, these form a guide for the floral-design quilting stitches ), and complete instructions in English, Spanish, and French. These instructions include cutting directions and suggested materials for the coverlet. See my pictures of the outer envelope, tissue, and complete instructions. Condition: The outer envelope has the original folds. One of the folds is torn on the fold line from age. The outer envelope is also pretty ragged from age. NOTE: this a quilt pattern only, NOT a finished quilt.
