Description: A PRETTY VICTORIAN HOB NAIL CUT GLASS PERFUME/SMELLING SALTS BOTTLE WITH A HINGED SILVER LID H/M BIRMINGHAM, 1893 This is a pretty little bottle which may have been used for perfume or, perhaps more likely, for smelling salts or something sweet smelling to cover the odours of Victorian England. The bottle bears the makers initials for Colen Hewer Cheshire, of Northampton Street, Birmingham and the hallmarks for 1893. Please see the attached photos which are an integral part of this description. All items are described to the best of my knowledge, however I usually don't state the obvious as this can be seen from the numerous photos provided. The bottle is in very good condition with a sound silver top and traditional Victorian hob-nail pattern cut glass decoration. The bottle has very minor nibbles as would be expected of an item which has seen use over the last 100+ years. Please appreciate that all items are antique/vintage/used and therefore are likely to show varying degrees of age related wear and tear. If you want to ensure 100% pristine condition may I suggest you buy new. A fine item which would make an excellent gift.
