Description: Vintage, Original 1975 Oregana Yearbook. The Steve Prefontaine memorial is a two-page tribute on pages 228-229 of the yearbook. Please view the photos of this RARE and vintage yearbook. There are a tremendous amount of interesting events that happened during the school year. Campus performances by Joan Baez, Jerry Garcia (The Grateful Dead), Chic Corea, Tower of Power, Taj Mahal, The Average White Band, and others. A lot of great photos. The yearbook has 320 pages. Measures approximately 9 1/2" x 12 1/4". This former University of Oregon Ducks distance runner was tragically killed in an auto accident here in Eugene, Oregon in 1975. A world-class runner who had so many unfulfilled goals, that due to his death at such an early age (24), would never be attained by him. Prefontaine set American records at every distance from 2,000 to 10,000 meters, as he prepared for the 1976 Olympics, but he wanted much more. He wanted to break a world record and win an Olympic Medal. Condition: The yearbook is in Very Good condition, with moderate age/handling wear. Ships (USPS) Ground Advantage inside a plastic bag, inside a box, and this includes tracking. Priority Mail is another option offered.
