Description: Pre 1950's New Haven Mantel Clock - Hour & Half Hour Strike. It's hard to tell the year exactly because most of this model have gone to the clock heaven in the sky. There is no others to compare this to. By the look of the gold stripping, it appears to be from the 1930s or 1940s. I've had this for some time now. It works perfectly. It's keeps great time. You may have to fine tune the weight if it's to slow or to fast based on your geographic area. It has two small flaws. There is one piece of wood on the base corner that was glued back on years ago. You wouldn't notice it though. View the last few photos to see what I'm talking about. The second is that there is a little play in the second hand. I would expect that for its age over time setting the time. It does not play chimes. It strikes once on the half hour and then strikes on the hour. If it's 8 o'clock, it strikes 8 times.
