Description: Postcard RPPC Stearman M-2 Mail Biplane Beach Delivery Pickup Alaska? C9054 P8O Notes: Research on FAA website indicates this aircraft (originally with registration C9054) was ultimately registered as N9054 serial #1004. FAA indicates the last owner was Chester Martin from Fairbanks, AK and its certificate was cancelled in 1937. The M-2 was first built in 1929 and was specifically designed to fly mail and this one was likely originally owned by Varney Air Lines. The terrain in the photo looks like it is Alaska but I'm not positive. Please see scans/photos for depiction of condition and details (use the zoom feature to see the full detail and condition of the card). Some postcards may have creases, edge and corner wear, pencil/pen markings, fading, yellowing, or staining consistent with their age and storage. Please let us know if you have any questions or require additional photos. Thank you very much for looking!
