Description: The coins in the America the Beautiful State Quarters Collection were authorized by Congress through the America's Beautiful National Parks Quarter Dollar Coin Act of 2008.Under the terms of the legislation, a national park or other national site in each state and U.S. territory, as well as the District of Columbia, is honored on a unique, limited edition State Quarter. The 56 coins are issued in the order in which the national sites were established. They are released at the rate of five per year, starting in 2010, with one coin in the final year.Each coin is struck in uncirculated quality at the U.S. Mints in Philadelphia and Denver. Starting in 2012, the U.S. Mint in San Francisco also began producing uncirculated coins in limited editions.
